Tony Awards 69th Annual Tony Awards Will Be Broadcast on CBS in June 2015 The 69th Annual Tony Awards will be broadcast live from Radio City Music Hall in New York City June 7, 2015, on CBS.

The Tony Awards, which honor theatre professionals for distinguished achievement on Broadway, will air 8 PM-11 PM ET.

The annual ceremony has been broadcast on CBS since 1978. The Tony Awards were first held on April 6, 1947, at the Waldorf Astoria’s Grand Ballroom.

The ceremony is presented by Tony Award Productions, a joint venture of the Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing, which founded the Tonys.

Nominations for the Tony Awards will be announced April 28. A limited number of tickets to the 2015 Tony Awards will be made available to the general public beginning April 29 by visiting www.TonyAwards.com.

Ricky Kirshner and Glenn Weiss of White Cherry Entertainment will return as executive producers. Weiss will also serve as director for the 16th consecutive year. *

The 2013 Tony Awards broadcast was recently honored with three Primetime Emmy Awards in the categories of Outstanding Directing for a Variety Special, Outstanding Special Class Program and Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics for “Bigger!”
