COSTA MESA, CA -- South Coast Rep has announced the seven playwrights whose work will be developed and presented at the SCR's first Pacific Playwrights Festival (PPF). The Festival, which is underwritten by a $175,000 grant from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, will be held June 18-28.
The seven new plays to be presented are Anthony Clarvoe's Walking Off the Roof, Cusi Cram's Landlocked, John Glore's On the Jump, Jessica Hagedorn's Dogeaters, Howard Korder's The Hollow Lands, Chris Van Groningen's The Mechanics and Karen Zacarias' The Sins of Sor Juana.
Clarvoe and Cram's plays will each receive six performances in repertory. These will be in the SCR Second Stage with minimal sets, costumes and lighting. Tickets are $18.
The other five plays will receive individual script in-hand readings on the Mainstage (except for Sor Juana, which will be read on the Second Stage) at $8 per ticket.
