News 78th Street's Straight on 'Til Morning Extends Off-Broadway's 78th Street Theatre Lab production of Trish Harnetiaux's Straight on 'Til Morning has extended.

Scheduled to run Sept. 3-25, it will now play until Sept. 28.

The piece is inspired by J.M. Barrie's Peter Pan and "the youth Mecca that is Williamsburg, Brooklyn." (The title refers to Peter Pan's directions to Neverland: "Second star to the right and straight on 'til morning.")

Harnetiaux sees industrial/bohemian Williamsburg, a hive of young painters, critics and sculptors, as a modern-day Neverland. The pirates and lost boys are now "artists, hipsters, slackers, poseurs and blue-collar locals." Peter is portrayed as "a hip, indie-rock recruiter who refuses to grow up. The ever restless Peter rebels against the gentrification and changing landscape of this once working-class Brooklyn neighborhood, now proliferated with skyrocketing real estate costs, trendy bars, galleries, upscale restaurants."

The cast includes David Carson, Maurice Edwards, Edward Furs, Jason Griffin, Corey Stieb, Kate Turnbull, and Michael Colby Jones as Peter. The production features the designs of Sarah Pearline (sets), Steve O'Shea (lights), and Rabiah Troncelliti (costumes).

Tickets are $15 and available at (212) 868-4444 or www.smarttix.com. For additional information, visit www.78thStreetTheatreLab.org.
