News '80s Singer Lisa Lisa Joins Off-Broadway's Donkey Show, April 11 If Deborah Gibson can be in Cabaret, why shouldn't another '80s pop star, Lisa Lisa (of Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam fame), join the cast of Off-Broadway's long running The Donkey Show at El Flamingo. The songstress will play one weekend only, April 11-12.

Rising to fame with such hits as "I Wonder If I Take You Home", "All Cried Out," "Head to Toe" and "Lost In Emotion," Lisa Lisa brought a new Latin crossover into popular dance music. The singer is a multi-platinum recording artist. The Donkey Show, described as a "Midsummer Night's disco," opened as a six week limited engagement at NYC's El Flamingo on August 18, 1999. Created and directed by Diane Paulus and Randy Weiner, The Donkey Show resets Shakespeare's classic comedy A Midsummer Night's Dream into the disco scene of the 1970s. Nightclub impresario Oberon and exotic dancer Titania find themselves in the midst of a timeless lovers' quarrel Bottom is replaced by a pair of afro-ed, disco-dancing twins. Donkey features songs that defined the disco era like "I Love the Nightlife," "Ring My Bell," "Car Wash," and "You Sexy Thing."

Tickets to The Donkey Show at El Flamingo, 547 West 21st St. (between Tenth and 11th Ave.), can be purchased through Ticketmaster at (212) 307-4100. For more information visit www.thedonkeyshow.com.
