The 18-track studio album was recorded last year when A Christmas Story played a five-city U.S. tour. The album features a mix of performers from that tour and special guests from Broadway. (Complete casting for the Broadway production has not been announced.)

The album features John Bolton as The Old Man and Clarke Hallum as Ralphie and their fellow cast members from the 2011 tour, as well as Tony Award nominee Liz Callaway (Baby, Miss Saigon) as Mother and Tony Award nominee Tom Wopat (Catch Me If You Can, Annie Get Your Gun) as Jean Shepherd.

The cast album will be released digitally Sept. 25 followed by an Oct. 22 in-store release.

Songs include:

"Overture"
"Counting Down to Christmas"
"Highbee's"
"Red Ryder"
"The Genius on Cleveland Street"
"When You're a Wimp"
"Ralphie to the Rescue"
"What A Mother Does"
"A Sticky Situation"
"A Major Award"
"Act One Finale"
"A Kid At Christmas"
"You'll Shoot Your Eye Out"
"Just Like That"
"Up On Santa's Lap"
'Before The Old Man Comes Home"
"Somewhere Hovering Over Indiana'
"A Christmas Story" As previously reported, Dan Lauria, who last appeared in the title role of Lombardi, will portray Jean Shepherd in the Broadway run of A Christmas Story. The musical will officially open Nov. 19. The run is currently scheduled through Dec. 30.

A Christmas Story, The Musical! has orchestrations by 2011 Tony nominee Larry Blank (Catch Me If You Can, The Drowsy Chaperone, White Christmas), musical supervision by Ian Eisendrath and dance arrangements by Glen Kelly.

Tony-winning director John Rando (Urinetown) and Tony-nominated choreographer Warren Carlyle (Chaplin, Follies, An Evening With Hugh Jackman) helm the production. Joseph Robinette authored the book.

According to producers, "In 1940's Indiana, a bespectacled boy named Ralphie has a big imagination and one wish for Christmas—a Red Ryder BB Gun. A kooky leg lamp, outrageous pink bunny pajamas, a cranky department store Santa, and a triple-dog-dare to lick a freezing flagpole are just a few of the obstacles that stand between Ralphie and his Christmas dream. A Christmas Story, The Musical! is holiday entertainment that captures a simpler time in America with delicious wit and a heart of gold."
