The 2009 Drama Desk Award-winning Celebrity Autobiography performed a special one-night-only Broadway-themed edition—Celebrity Autobiography Salutes the Tony Awards—June 6 at New York’s Triad Theater with a cast including Mario Cantone, Rachel Dratch, Tovah Feldshuh, Eugene Pack, Dayle Reyfel, Julian Sands, Sherri Shepherd, Carol Kane and Alan Zweibel.

Celebrity Autobiography Salutes the Tony Awards included classics and favorites interspersed with celebrity mash-up readings of Broadway performers and legends—from the contemporary David Hasselhoff, Susan Lucci and Madonna to a ‘Broadway Melody’ mash-up with ping-ponging excerpts from the memoirs of Great White Way legends like Carol Channing, Ethel Merman and Lauren Bacall.

Here, Cantone performs as Bacall, and Kane performs as Channing. Both perform a section where Bacall and Channing talk about taking home the Tony.

Celebrity Autobiography, created by Eugene Pack and Dayle Reyfel, features a line-up of rotating performers who interpret the actual words and stories written by the famous and the infamous, in both solo and ensemble “chamber” pieces. Some of the “authors” that are featured include Ivana Trump, Vanna White, Mr. T, Star Jones, Kenny Loggins, Tommy Lee, Sylvester Stallone, the Jonas Brothers, Zsa Zsa Gabor, David Cassidy, Neil Sedaka, Britney Spears, Madonna, Tiger Woods, Justin Bieber, Burt Reynolds and Loni Anderson, as well as the infamous memoirs of Elizabeth Taylor, Eddie Fisher, and Debbie Reynolds.
