Rattlestick Playwrights Theater celebrated the official opening of Samuel D. Hunter's Lewiston/Clarkston October 25. The downtown theatre has been completely reconfigured for the production—two plays by The Whale playwright staged in a single evening and with a communal meal served in between shows.

Directed by Davis McCallum, the plays focus on two modern-day descendants of Meriwether Lewis and William Clark. Set at a failing fireworks stand in Lewiston, Idaho, and across the river at a big box store in Clarkston, Washington, Lewiston and Clarkston share the question: What is the true legacy of the great American push west?
