The production, which marks the New York City premiere of the published version of the play, is presented by Peccadillo Theater Company in association with La Femme Theatre Productions and continues through June 7.

Directed by Dan Wackerman, A Loss of Roses features Deborah Hedwall (Sight Unseen, "The Big C") as Helen Baird, Patricia Hodges (A Man For All Seasons, Dancing At Lughnasa) as Mme. Olga St. Valentine, Ben Kahre (The Commons of Pensacola, Higher) as Kenny Baird, Jean Lichty (The Girl's Last Big Mistake, Bro) as Lila Green, Gregory Perri (Good People) as 'Jelly' Beamis, Fina Strazza (The Sound of Music, Once on This Island) as Sandra, Jonathan Stewart (Perfect Crime, A Little Night Music) as Ricky Powers, Kristen Sweeney (Legally Blonde, Annie) as Mrs. Mulvaney and Marty Thomas (The Secret Garden, Wicked) as Ronny Cavendish.

"From William Inge, the most successful American playwright of the 1950's, comes this poignant story of a young man's struggle for independence and an older woman's search for connection," press notes state. "Set against the backdrop of a small mid-western town in the 1930's, their unconventional romance is filled with the promise of new beginnings as well as the possibility of scandal and rejection."

The original 1959 Broadway production of A Loss of Roses featured Warren Beatty, Carol Haney, Michael J. Pollard, Betty Field and Robert Webber in its cast. It played 27 performances.

Inge's writing credits include Come Back, Little Sheba; Picnic; Bus Stop; and The Dark at the Top of the Stairs; as well as the Academy Award-winning screenplay for "Splendor in the Grass." In his introduction to the published version of A Loss of Roses, Inge blames the play's failure on the changes forced upon him by the director and producer. The Peccadillo Theater Company is producing the original version of the play, which has never been seen in New York.

The production features scenic and lighting design by Harry Feiner, video design by Feiner and Ido Levran, costume design by Marianne Custer, sound design by Dave Thomas and wig design by Paul Huntley. Randy Lawson is production stage manager, and Joshua Quinn is assistant stage manager.

Seats are available by calling (212) 352-310 or visiting thepeccadillo.com. The Theatre at St. Clement's is located at 423 West 46th Street.
