PlayBlog A Musical Introduction From the Cast of Williamstown's Ten Cents A Dance (Video) Ten Cents a Dance, the new Rodgers and Hart musical crafted by Tony Award-winning director John Doyle, began its U.S. premiere at the Williamstown Theatre Festival Aug. 11.

The cast features Tony Award winner Donna McKechnie (A Chorus Line) as Miss Jones Five, Tony nominee Malcolm Gets (The Story of My Life) as Johnny, Lauren Molina (Sweeney Todd) as Miss Jones One, Jane Pfitsch (Company) as Miss Jones Two, Jessica Tyler Wright (Sweeney Todd) as Miss Jones Three and Diana DiMarzio (Sweeney Todd) as Miss Jones Four.

Here, Gets and the "Ladies of the Berkshires" introduce themselves with a musical performance about their actor-musician production. Gets accompanies the ladies on piano as they sing and play their instruments.

Doyle, who won the Tony Award for his work on Sweeney Todd, stages the production as an actor-musician piece and recently talked with Playbill.com about his ideas behind the production and his experience in rehearsals. Ten Cents a Dance will run through Aug. 28 on the Williamstown main stage and is a co-presentation with the McCarter Theatre Center, where it will also run Sept. 9-Oct. 9.
