The sequel to the long-running Off-Broadway production The Marvelous Wonderettes opened Nov. 24 at The Laguna Playhouse in Laguna Beach, CA. With a holiday theme, the Wonderettes have come together once again for a return engagement, this time serving as the entertainment at Harper's Hardware Store's annual Christmas party.

Written and directed by Roger Bean (The Marvelous Wonderettes), Winter Wonderettes premiered at Milwaukee Repertory in November 2003, and has been seen in various regional theatres around the country.

Winter Wonderettes plays The Laguna Playhouse through Dec. 30. It stars Misty Cotton as Missy, Julie Dixon Jackson as Betty Jean, Susannah Hall as Cindy Lou and Bets Malone as Suzy. Cotton recently appeared in The Marvelous Wonderettes Off-Broadway, and Malone originated the role of Suzy in The Marvelous Wonderettes at Milwaukee Rep and in the Off-Broadway production.

The Laguna Playhouse recently released some behind-the-scenes videos of the rehearsal process for Winter Wonderettes as a part of their "2 Minutes of Theater" webcast, and also released videos from the production.
