"We believe in creating opportunities for untapped talent," Kei Lee, executive vice president of Casting, said in a prepared statement. "We are proud to once again move forward with our forth show in New York showcasing these talented actors from varied cultural and ethnic backgrounds." The 14 actors were selected from more than 600 who auditioned from companies like American Indian Community House, Asian American Arts Alliance, Frank Silvera's Writers Workshop, HOLA, Negro Ensemble Company, New Federal Theatre, Non-Traditional Casting Project and other New York theater companies and schools.
The showcase is not open to the public. Casting directors and talent agents will view a series of one-act vignettes performed by the actors and directed by Ted Sluberski and Amanda Charlton.
The actors to be featured are Annie Burton Alvarez, Amir Arison, Stephanie Bast, Marsha Stephanie Blake, Sanjit De Silva, Mario Eusebio, Poorna Jagannathan, Ty Jones, Jasika Nicole, Adepero Oduye, Gio Perez, Karim Sioud, Sheila Tapia and Jesse Williams.
