Abigail's Party, which proved a hit when it opened (25 years after the original production, at the same venue) at Hampstead Theatre on May 15, opens Dec. 4 at the New Ambassador's.
It follows The Woman Who Cooked Her Husband (starring the original lead in Abigail's Party on stage and television, Alison Steadman) and is scheduled to run to April 4, 2003.
The New Ambassador's has developed a reputation for staging rather quirky comedies that attract a younger audience, and Abigail's Party, with its mocking of middle-aged middle-class behavior may prove a major attraction for the theatre's regular customers.
