Classic Arts News ABT's Spring Season Features Company Premieres by Kudelka and Cranko American Ballet Theatre's 2006 spring season at the Metropolitan Opera House will feature company premieres of James Kudelka's Cinderella and John Cranko's Jeu de cartes.
Cinderella, set to the Prokofiev score, features sets and costumes by David Beochler and lighting design by Christopher Dennis. It premiered at National Ballet of Canada, where Kudelka was artistic director for nine years, in 2004.

Jeu de cartes, which premiered at Stuttgart Ballet in 1965, has costumes and sets by Dorothee Zippel. It will be part of a program of Stravinsky works with George Balanchine's Apollo and Michel Fokine's Petrouchka.

A revival of Kenneth MacMillan's Manon, set to the score by Massenet, is also on the schedule.

The company's repertory programs include Le Corsaire, Giselle, Swan Lake, Sylvia, and Romeo and Juliet.

The season, which opens on May 22 with a gala performance featuring all of the company's principal dancers, runs through July 15.
