Barry starred in a few Broadway plays in the 1970s, including The Leaf People, for which he won an Obie Award. He won a second Obie for Molly'd Dream. Barry began his stage career in the '60s, working with the experimental Living Theatre, the New York Shakespeare Festival and Joseph Chaiken's Open Theatre. A new chapter in his career began in the 1990s, when he started landing choice supporting roles in major films such as "Born on the Fourth of July," "Dead Man Walking" and "Training Day." Barry is not new to playwriting. He has penned more than a dozen titles, including Once in Doubt.

In Foul Shots, "an edgy young man teaches his illiterate father how to read and in the process, father and son stumble onto a minefield of old wounds and misunderstandings as they attempt to forge a new relationship. " Thomas Draper is the director.
