Well, you can take the boy out of the rock musical, but you can't take the rock music out of the boy. Adam Pascal, once Roger in Jonathan Larson's Rent, now an Egyptian prince in Elton John's Aida, will return to his roots on Sept. 28 at midnight when his rock band performs at Upstairs at Studio 54 in Manhattan.

Pascal will perform songs from his first rock album, "Model Prisoner." He will be joined by Paul Ossola on bass, Shannon Ford on drums, Karen Cole on keyboards and Kenny Brescia on guitar. "Downstairs" at Studio 54 is, of course, the home of Cabaret.

Pascal isn't the only Rent alum rocking in Manhattan this autumn. Actor Anthony Rapp, who played Mark Cohen, the filmmaker at the center of Jonathan Larson's musical, will perform with his new rock band at Fez, on Oct. 8 and 15.

The band will perform each night at 8 PM. Admission is $12.

Rapp starred in Rent Off-Broadway, on Broadway and in London. His other stage credits include Precious Sons, The King and I and You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown. Fez is located at 380 Lafayette Street. For reservations, call (212) 533 2680.
