Marielle Heller will head the cast as Minnie. The company also includes Jon Krupp, Michael Laurence, Mariann Mayberry and Nell Mooney. Sarah Cameron Sunde and Rachel Eckerling direct.

The Diary of a Teenage Girl, according to press notes, tells the story of 15-year-old Minnie, "growing up in the chaos of the 1970s, in the haze that is San Francisco. Minnie is incredibly bright and self-reflective. She is gut-wrenchingly honest, and curious about the world around her. And she has just begun an affair with her mother’s boyfriend, Monroe. Ouch."

Writer and actress Heller adapted The Diary of a Teenage Girl after reading Phoebe Gloeckner's graphic novel. After securing Gloeckner's approval of the project, Heller began her adaptation working with Tony Taccone, artistic director of Berkeley Repertory Theatre, and then with the directing team of Sarah Cameron Sunde and Rachel Eckerling.

Heller has worked at SoHo Rep, Berkely Repertory Theatre, San Diego Repertory Theatre, ACT in San Francisco, Cherry Lane Theatre and Naked Angels, among others. She was most recently seen on stage in Evie's Waltz at San Francisco's historic Magic Theatre.
