Weekends have sold well for the saucy comedy about porn stars who decide to make their own dirty movie, injecting it with shape and (they think) literary qualities. The staging was punctuated with original songs and video sequences (songs by May and Bryan Louiselle). The audiences who howled at the show probably couldn't get the song about the "orange wang orangutan" out of their heads as they left the show.

"After a strong five-month run, including an unusually robust winter season, we've decided to finish on a high," producer Schlossberg said in a statement.

Adult Entertainment will have played 144 performances and 28 previews at the Variety Arts Theatre. No new production has been mentioned for the house on Third Avenue, though it's known that the musical Avenue Q is looking for a new home after its run at the Vineyard.

The May comedy, starring her daughter, Jeannie Berlin, as a burned out actress named Frosty Moons, and Danny Aiello as a porn producer, opened Dec. 11, 2002.
