News Aida's Headley at Work On Second Solo Recording Tony Award winner Heather Headley, who scored two Grammy Award nominations for her debut solo recording, is at work on her second solo disc.

Headley is recording her new CD for RCA Records under the guidance of legendary producer Clive Davis. In an interview for Next Magazine, Headley said, "Clive Davis is working with me on it and he's been so sweet. He's very father-like but, as anybody in that position who's been that successful has to be, he's strict too. But he always asks me how I feel and what I want to sing so that's really wonderful." Headley's debut R&B recording, "This Is Who I Am," was released in October 2002 on the RCA label. She was nominated for two Grammy Awards — Best New Artist and Best Female R&B Vocal Performance — for that disc.

Heather Headley earned a Tony Award for her performance in the title role of Disney's Aida. She has also appeared on Broadway as Nala in The Lion King, in the all-star benefit concert of Dreamgirls and the City Center Encores! production of Do Re Mi. She returns to the New Amsterdam Theatre May 24 for a one-night-only benefit concert for BC/EFA entitled Home.
