Universal Music Enterprises (UMe) will release the Original Broadway Cast Recording of Ain't Too Proud — The Life and Times of The Temptations this spring. A physical release will be available beginning March 21 exclusively at Broadway's Imperial Theatre—where the jukebox biomusical begins performances February 28—with a March 22 digital release, April 19 wide physical release, and June 7 double-LP vinyl release set to follow.

Pre-orders of the album, available here, include an immediate download of the title number "Ain't Too Proud to Beg." The preview track is also available for streaming.

Featuring a book by Dominique Morisseau, the musical uses the group’s hits to tell the story of their journey from the streets of Detroit to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Audiences can expect to hear such tunes as “My Girl,” “Just My imagination,” “Get Ready,” and “Papa Was a Rolling Stone.”

The Des McAnuff-helmed production made its world premiere at California’s Berkeley Repertory Theatre in 2017 before going on to play Washington, D.C., Los Angeles, and Toronto.

Leading the cast as The Temptations on Broadway are Derrick Baskin (Memphis) as Otis Williams, James Harkness (Beautiful) as Paul Williams, Jawan M. Jackson (Motown) as Melvin Franklin, Jeremy Pope (Choir Boy) as Eddie Kendricks, and Ephraim Sykes (Hamilton) as David Ruffin. Joining them are Saint Aubyn, Shawn Bowers, E. Clayton Cornelious, Taylor Symone Jackson, Jahi Kearse, Jarvis B. Manning Jr., Joshua Morgan, Rashidra Scott, Nasia Thomas, Christian Thompson, Candice Marie Woods, Esther Antoine, Marcus Paul James, Jelani Remy, and Curtis Wiley.

Ain’t Too Proud features choreography by Sergio Trujillo, sets by Robert Bill, costumes by Paul Tazewell, lighting by Howell Binkley, sound design by Steve Canyon, projections by Peter Nigrini, vocal supervision by Liz Caplan, orchestrations by Harold Wheeler, and music direction and arrangements by Kenny Seymour. Casting is by Tara Rubin Casting and Merri Sugarman, CSA.
