Oct. 16: Obie winner Taylor Mac's newest Off-Broadway offering, Hir, is billed as a "subversive comedy." The Playwrights Horizons production stars Tony nominee Kristine Nielsen and transgender teen actor Tom Phelan from the groundbreaking TV series "The Fosters."
Oct. 21: Visionary director Ivo Van Hove makes his Broadway debut with the transfer of his Olivier Award-winning production of Arthur Miller's A View from the Bridge. The Young Vic staging received critical acclaim and immediately sold-out its initial engagement.
Oct. 21: Oscar winner Al Pacino co-stars alongside Christopher Denham in David Mamet's two-hander, China Doll. Pacino plays a billionaire on the verge of retirement, ready to buy his young, new fiance a jetplane and settle into the good life. One phone call changes it all.
Oct. 22: Emmy Award winners Bruce Willis and Laurie Metcalf lead the cast of the new Broadway suspense thriller Misery, based on Stephen King's novel of the same name. What better way to kick off your Halloween celebrations than with this edge-of-your-seat production?
OPENING
Oct. 19: Playwright Abe Koogler makes his professional debut with Kill Floor, directed by Lila Neugebauer as part of Lincoln Center Theater's LCT3 program. The play casts Tony nominee Marin Ireland as an ex-prisoner returning to her hometown and trying to reconcile with her 15-year-old son.
Oct. 22: Broadway welcomes the official opening of the premiere of tap-happy musical Dames at Sea, the Off-Broadway hit that helped launch the career of Tony winner Bernadette Peters. The cast features John Bolton, Mara Davi, Danny Gardner, Eloise Kropp, Cary Tedder and Lesli Margherita.
Oct. 20: Pulitzer Prize winner David Lindsay-Abaire debuts his world-premiere comedy Ripcord at Manhattan Theatre Club. Set in a nursing home, it sees two elderly women, played by Emmy winner Holland Taylor and Marylouise Burke, in a hilarious, no-holds-barred battle of the wills - to the death (you've been warned!).
LAST CHANCE
Oct. 18: The Absolute Brightness of Leonard Pelkey closes following an acclaimed, extended Off-Broadway run. James Lecesne's solo play recounts the story of the disappearance of a teenage boy in a small Jersey Shore town. Lecesne brings wit, warmth, humor and empathy to the wide range of characters employed to tell the story.
Oct. 25: New Broadway musical Amazing Grace plays its final performance at the Nederlander Theatre. The show tells the story of the tumultuous life of the man who composed the hymn "Amazing Grace."

Oct. 15: The recent sold-out London production of Hamlet, starring Oscar nominee Benedict Cumberbatch in the title role, is broadcast to cinemas around the world as part of the National Theatre Live series. Click here to find out where the show is screening near you and to buy tickets.
Oct. 16: PBS presents a concert staging of the Jerome Kern and Oscar Hammerstein II masterpiece Show Boat, part of the Live from Lincoln Center series. The New York Philharmonic production features an all-star cast that includes Vanessa Williams, Julian Ovenden, Tony Award nominees Lauren Worsham and Norm Lewis, Tony and Emmy Award winner Jane Alexander and Fred Willard.
