Five years after World War II has ended, Puppetmaster finds Samuel Finkelbaum hiding in his home, afraid to come out for fear of persecution by the Nazis. He has instead recreated his world inside his apartment with puppets to embody his loved ones and friends. Throughout the play, a mysterious stranger (played by Segal in the original production in 1983) tries to convince Finkelbaum that the war is over.

Laura Margolis directs. Scott Klavan, a veteran of BAM, Ensemble Studio Theatre and The Actors Studio, stars as Finkelbaum. Also in the cast are Nancy Rothman, Grant Neale and Bill Ziskin.

Ralph Lee, head of the Mettawee River Theatre Company -- known for its retelling of classic myths through puppetry and masks, created this production's puppets. The production team includes Elise Viola (sets), Jason Adams (lighting), Linda Salsbery (costumes) and Joe Jurchak (sound).
