(It was also disclosed yesterday that, due to the impending arrival of their new babies, conductor Miguel Harth-Bedoya has withdrawn from his dates this week with the Los Angeles Philharmonic at the Hollywood Bowl and that Kansas City Symphony music director Michael Stern would miss this weekend's season-opening concerts in that city.)
Replacing Kraggerud in Indianapolis will be Alexander Kerr, who in June left the concertmaster's chair at the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra of Amsterdam to take an endowed professorship at Indiana University's Jacobs School of Music and pursue a career as solost and chamber musician.
The program, to be conducted by Kwam_ Ryan in his ISO debut, includes Mozart's Violin Concerto No. 5, Shostakovich's Fifth Symphony and (on October 6 and 7) John Corigliano's Mannheim Rocket.
