The world-premiere musical is based on Alison Bechdel's graphic memoir. As previously reported, the cast will feature Tony Award nominee Judy Kuhn (Chess, Les Miserables), Roberta Colindrez, Beth Malone and Joel Perez. Socha (Spring Awakening), Moran (Titanic, The Tricky Part), Griffin Birney, Sydney Lucas and Noah Marlowe complete the company.

The Public Theater, which also shepherded Tesori's Caroline, or Change, and Kron's Well and In the Wake, will present Fun Home under the direction of Sam Gold (Seminar, Circle Mirror Transformation). The musical has book and lyrics by Kron and a score by Tesori. The sold-out run will play through Nov. 4.

Fun Home is billed as "an original new musical about fathers, daughters, cartoons, caskets, and love. Based on Alison Bechdel's acclaimed graphic novel and set in the family business, Bechdel Funeral Home, Fun Home charts Alison's quest to come to terms with her father's life and death by painstakingly reconstructing their shared but unspoken bond. Surprising, funny, ultimately deeply moving, Fun Home is an exciting world-premiere musical from some of New York’s brightest theatrical talents."

Malone, Socha and Lucas will portray various incarnations of Alison.

The musical has been developed at the Sundance Theatre Lab as well as the Ojai Playwrights Conference in recent seasons. The Public Lab production will have scenic and costume design by David Zinn; lighting design by Ben Stanton; sound design by Kai Harada; video design by Jim Findlay and Jeff Sugg; musical direction by Andy Einhorn; and choreography by David Neumann.

Ticket cancellations may be available. Phone (212) 967-7555 or visit PublicTheater. The Public Theater is located at 425 Lafayette Street in Manhattan.
