News All the More to Love, a Plus-Size Musical, Will Premiere at Laguna Playhouse The 2008-09 season at The Laguna Playhouse in California will include the world-premiere musical, All the More to Love, about habitués of a plus-size consignment shop.

Composer Craig Bohmler and lyricist Marion Adler, the songwriters of the musicals Gunmetal Blues and Enter the Guardsman, team up with librettist Marc Jacobs for the Laguna commission, to play March 31-May 3, 2009.

It's billed as "a musical about the unusual people who frequent a plus-size consignment shop and their quest for love, self-respect and the deeper meaning of wearing someone else's clothes."

The new season will also include The Marvelous Wonderettes, the '50s revue by Roger Bean (opening the season July 8-Aug. 31); the West Coast premiere of Tom Dudzick's showbiz comedy Don't Talk to the Actors; the West Coast premiere of the popular and heartfelt regional comedy, Leaving Iowa, by Spike Manton and Tim Clue; the popular musical biography of Ella Fitzgerald, Ella, which has book by Jeffrey Hatcher, conception by Rob Ruggiero and Dyke Garrison and musical arrangements by Danny Holgate; Mark Brown's adaptation of the Jules Verne classic, Around the World in Eighty Days; and Michael Hollinger's dark comedy An Empty Plate in the Café du Grand Boeuf.
