Booking is now open for Alone It Stands, a comedy about a rugby match, which opens at the Duchess Theatre on Jan. 2, 2002, for a six-week season.
Alone It Stands, written by Irish playwright John Breen, tells the true story of the Irish rugby team The Munters and the team's historic defeat of the New Zealand All Blacks in 1978.
The fact that six actors represent the cast of 60 characters involved in and around the match becomes less extraordinary when you realize that the producer, Pat Moylan, produced Stones In His Pockets, now an international success, where two actors play the cast and crew of a Hollywood movie and the Irish village where it is being filmed.
