News Altar Boyz Plays 1,500th Performance Off-Broadway Oct. 3 The popular boy-band musical Altar Boyz celebrates its 1,500th performance Off-Broadway at New World Stages Oct. 3.

Altar Boyz is now Off-Broadway's 11th longest-running musical, following The Fantasticks; I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change; Nunsense; Threepenny Opera; Naked Boys Singing; Forbidden Broadway; Little Shop of Horrors; Godspell; Jacques Brel is Alive and Well and Living in Paris; and Forever Plaid.

A 2005 Outer Critics Circle winner, Altar Boyz is directed by Stafford Arima with choreography by Christopher Gattelli. Music and lyrics are by Gary Adler and Michael Patrick Walker with book by Kevin Del Aguila, based on a concept by Marc Kessler and Ken Davenport.

Currently populating Altar Boyz are Michael Kadin Craig, Neil Haskell, Travis Nesbitt, Mauricio Perez and Ryan Strand.

In addition to the successful Off-Broadway production, Altar Boyz recently completed a national tour and also premiered worldwide productions in South Korea, Hungary, Brazil, Sweden, Finland, Australia and Japan.
