The event, titled "The Secrets Behind a Long-Running Show – How They Did It And How You Can, Too," will help kick off the 50th anniversary season of The Fantasticks, which opened May 3, 1960.

Farber, who was part of the original producing team, collaborated with Viagas on the book, which draws on first-hand stories from the entire original cast — including the late Orbach and Rita Gardner — and all the original creators, including writers Tom Jones and Harvey Schmidt. Farber and Viagas will share stories and take questions from the audience.

The event begins at 6:15 PM at the Orbach Theatre, which is part of the Snapple Theatre Center at the corner of 50th Street and Broadway in Manhattan.

Farber, a veteran entertainment attorney and educator, is the author of seven books dealing with various aspects of the entertainment industry, including "From Option to Opening, Producing on Broadway," "Actor’s Guide," "Producing, Financing and Distributing Film," "Producing Theatre" and "Common Sense Negotiation. He has taught at York University in Toronto, Hofstra University and The New School for Social Research and is of Counsel to the firm of Jacob, Medinger & Finnegan LLP.

In addition to serving as host of Playbill Radio and production editor of Playbill magazine, Viagas is author, co-author or editor of 12 theatre books including "On the Line: The Creation of A Chorus Line," "The Alchemy of Theatre," "The Back Stage Guide to Broadway" and his latest, "I'm the Greatest Star," the story of 40 of Broadway's top musical comedy stars of the past century.
