News American Buffalo Opens at Hartford TheaterWorks Sept. 18 The Hartford TheaterWorks production of David Mamet's 1977 drama American Buffalo officially opens Sept. 18.

Artistic director Steve Campo directs a cast including TheaterWorks veteran Andrew Benator (Lobby Hero, Proof, The SantaLand Diaries) as Teach, John Ahlin (The Lonesome West, Seafarer) as Don and newcomer Zachary Spicer as Bobby. "In American Buffalo," press notes state, "three small-time hustlers conspire to steal a coin collector's priceless buffalo-head nickel. The question is...can they trust one another enough to get their piece of the American dream?"

American Buffalo has set design by Adrian Jones and lighting design by Matthew Richards.

American Buffalo began previews Sept. 11 and will run through Oct. 25.
