The film, which is set in 1961 Greenwich Village, also features Oscar Isaac, Justin Timberlake, Carey Mulligan and John Goodman. Sands will play Troy Nelson, a "forlorn but talented musician" in the burgeoning folk scene.
Sands, Deadline.com also reports, will be part of the cast of CBS' new series "NYC 22," which is produced by Robert De Niro and will debut this spring.
Stark Sands made his Broadway debut in Journey's End, earning a Tony nomination for his performance. His screen credits include "Flags of our Fathers," "Die, Mommie, Die," "Shall We Dance" and "Six Feet Under."
