American Idol Alum and Phantom of The Opera Star Unite for 14th Anniversary 9/11 Tribute | Playbill

News American Idol Alum and Phantom of The Opera Star Unite for 14th Anniversary 9/11 Tribute Mary Michael Patterson (The Phantom of the Opera) and Eric Anthony Lopez ("American Idol") recorded Lopez's new song, "Angels Sing," as a tribute to those who lost their lives in the Sept. 11 attacks.

In a statement released Sept. 11, Lopez described the message he hopes people take away from the song: "It's a tribute dedicated to all who have gone before us, especially those who have passed prematurely and how just because someone has physically left this earth, doesn't mean they can't still be a big part of your life. Also, I'm beyond grateful to have Mary Michael's beautiful vocals on this song with me. I'm such a fan of hers & she really makes the song come alive," he said.
