More than 25 West End stars can be heard on a new recording celebrating the songs of Alexander S. Bermange, best known to those in the U.K. as the resident songwriter on BBC Radio 4's Broadcasting House program.

Entitled "Act One," the 20-track disc boasts the vocal talents of Ricardo Afonso, Sabrina Aloueche, Joanna Ampil, Daniel Boys, Earl Carpenter, Dean Chisnall, Dean Collinson, Cassandra Compton, Janie Dee, Mark Evans, James Gillan, Linzi Hateley, Ben James-Ellis, Ramin Karimloo, Alexia Khadime, Jon Lee, Jenna Lee-James, Shona Lindsay, Susan McFadden, Dianne Pilkington, Lara Pulver, Jon Robyns, Summer Strallen, Oliver Thornton, Oliver Tompsett and Sally Ann Triplett. Song titles include "Walking on the Sun," "My Prince," "If This Could Be Forever" and "Trial of the Heart," among others. Tony-winning lyricist Tim Rice penned the liner notes for the new disc. In those notes the Evita lyricist says, "Alexander S. Bermange is going from strength to strength. I urge all lovers of contemporary musical theatre to add this album to their collection pronto."

Bermange is currently writing the music for the forthcoming West End production of Nicholas de Jongh's Plague Over England.
