News An Evening with Ricky Ian Gordon Set for May 30; Arden and Sutherland to Sing Composer Ricky Ian Gordon will offer an evening of his compositions next month at Opia.

An Evening with Ricky Ian Gordon will be presented May 30 at the new cabaret space located within Opia Restaurant. Among those scheduled to interpret Gordon's works are Michael Arden, Diane Sutherland, Scott Murphree and Rosena Hill. Show time is 9 PM. Ricky Ian Gordon’s My Life with Albertine was presented at Playwrights Horizons. His other works include Dream True, States of Independence, Stonewall/Night Variations, The Tibetan Book of the Dead, Only Heaven, Autumn Valentine, Sweet Song and Morning Star, and his songs have been recorded by such artists as Betty Buckley, Audra McDonald and Dawn Upshaw. Gordon's Orpheus and Euridice will premiere at the Rose Theatre in October 2005 as part of Lincoln Center's 2005-06 "Great Performers" season.
