PlayBlog An Off-Broadway Cover Story: Brother/Sister and Lady With All the Answers Tarell Alvin McCraney's The Brother/Sister Plays begin previews at the Public Theater on Oct. 21. A trilogy presented in two parts, the plays will be performed on separate evenings with marathons scheduled for weekends. Part One consists of In The Red and Brown Water, directed by Tina Landau, with The Brothers Size and Marcus; or the Secret of Sweet making up Part Two, directed by Robert O'Hara.


The work is a collection of modern-day stories of kinship, love, heartache and coming-of-age centered around an extended family and community in the Bayou.

The Cherry Lane Theatre is playing host to Judith Ivey starring as legendary advice columnist Ann Landers in The Lady With All the Answers.

Drawn from Ms. Landers' life and letters, the solo performance is an entertaining visit with this wise, funny, no-nonsense woman and provides a look at the social and sexual landscapes of the last half-century.  Performances continue through Nov. 29.
