News Anastasia Barzee Joins Cast of Bay Street Theatre Pippin Anastasia Barzee has replaced Rachel York in the Bay Street Theatre production of Pippin. She will play Catherine, the devoted woman who invites Pippin to try domestic life with her.

It is the second cast replacement for the high profile show. Recently, Stephanie Pope took over for Karen Ziemba in the role of Pippin's sexy, scheming stepmother Fastrada.

Barzee has performed on Broadway in Jekyll & Hyde, Urinetown and Henry IV.

David Larsen, most recently a sun-seeking teen in the Broadway musical Good Vibrations, will play the title role.

Larry Keith will be Charles, the king, Sebastian La Cause will play Lewis, the stupid and devious stepbrother of Pippin, and Alice Playten is Bertha. B.D. Wong, meanwhile, will be the Leading Player, the omniscient narrator part created by Ben Vereen on Broadway.

The show will play the Sag Harbor, Long Island, theatre Aug. 9-Sept. 4. Jack Hofsiss will direct the musical, which will conclude the season. Joey McKneeley (The Boy From Oz) will choreograph. John McDaniel will be music director.

Bob Fosse directed and choreographed the original 1972 Broadway production of Pippin. John Rubinstein played the searching Pippin ("Corner of the Sky," "With You"), Jill Clayburgh was his love interest ("I Guess I'll Miss the Man," "Kind of Woman"), Leland Palmer his evil stepmother and Irene Ryan was Pippin's feisty grandmother ("No Time At All"). The show ran 1,944 performances.
