News Andie MacDowell Joins "Footloose" Film Remake Golden Globe Award nominee Andie MacDowell has joined the cast of the upcoming remake of the film musical "Footloose." MacDowell will play Vi, the wife of anti-music crusader Reverend Moore (Dennis Quaid), according to ew.com.

MacDowell and Quaid previously played husband and wife in the 2001 HBO film of Donald Margulies' Pulitzer Prize-winning play Dinner with Friends. The film, to be written and directed by Craig Brewer, choreographed by Jamal Sims and produced by Craig Zadan and Neil Meron, will also star Kenny Wormald as Ren McCormack, Julianne Hough as Ariel Moore and Miles Teller as Willard.

MacDowell's film credits include "Daydream Nation," "Town & Country," "Michael," "Four Weddings and a Funeral," "Groundhog Day," "Short Cuts," "Green Card" and "Sex, Lies and Videotape," among others.

"Footloose" is a remake of the 1984 film starring Kevin Bacon that was also turned into a 1998 stage musical, directed by Walter Bobbie. The film is set to be released April 1, 2011. Production will begin shortly.
