After director Nicholas Martin installs You Never Can Tell at Roundabout's Laura Pels on June 21, he heads for the Williamstown Theatre Festival to do Thornton Wilder's The Matchmaker, with Andrea Martin (no kin) in the title role of Mrs. Dolly Levi.

Andrea Martin won a Tony Award for her performance in My Favorite Year and returned to Broadway in 1997's Candide.

Lewis J. Stadlen, Zilinsky in the recent Mizlansky/Zilinsky or "schmucks", will play her penny-pinching opposite number, Horace Vandergelder. Co-starred are Kate Burton as Irene Molloy and Adam Trese as Cornelius Hackl.

This comedy, precursor of Hello, Dolly! opens July 8 and runs through July 20.

Last summer Martin directed a similarly starry version of Sidney Kingsley's Dead End with Campbell Scott, Robert Sean Leonard, Marian Seldes and Hope Davis. -- By Harry Haun
