Watch what the Groundhog Day star has to say about his third Tony Award nomination.

On May 2 Andy Karl was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Musical for his turn as weatherman Phil Connors in Groundhog Day. The Tony nod marked the third time the actor has been nominated for the prestigious award—with previous nominations for his performances in On the Twentieth Century and Rocky.

Groundhog Day, the new musical from Tim Minchin and Danny Rubin, received seven 2017 Tony nominations. The show was also nominated for Best Musical, Best Direction, Best Book, Best Original Score, Best Choreography, and Best Scenic Design.
