Classic Arts News Anonymous 5: Best-Selling Vocal Quartet to Have Onstage Reunion With Former Colleague Tonight Anonymous 4, the quartet of silken-voiced ladies whose recordings of medieval music have been surprising bestsellers, will be having an onstage reunion tonight in Manhattan.
The occasion is the New York stop on their Long Time Traveling tour, which includes music from A4's latest CD, Gloryland. The program is the group's second (after American Angels) to explore early American gospel hymns, shape-note singing, and other traditional sacred music.

For this evening's performance at Merkin Concert Hall, the members of Anonymous 4 — Marsha Genensky, Susan Hellauer, Jacqueline Horner and Johanna Maria Rose — will be joined for a few songs by Ruth Cunningham, who left the group to pursue a career change in 1998 after a dozen years.

Playing with Anonymous 4 on the Long Time Traveling tour are two ace instrumentalists, violinist/mandolinist Darol Anger and guitar player Scott Nygaard. Rumor has it that, at the end of the show tonight, a couple of fiddlers from the audience may just step up on stage as well ...
