Think of it as Fully Committed for the alcoholic.

Instead of tickling the funny bones of foodies, Bartenders, a new solo work by actor-writer Louis Mustillo, promises to entertain, amuse and move the drinkers who stop by the John Houseman Studio Theatre, beginning Nov. 22.

Bartenders originally premiered at the Phil Bosakowski Theatre Sept. 26. The new run is open ended.

From a bartending family (his father worked behind the bar for 52 years), Mustillo plays six varied men who have made a life's work out of pouring and mixing drinks in New York City taverns. These men — Paddy McNally, Bobby Carling, Eddie Brady, Benny Seluto, Jimmy Taylor and Richard Amilito — are alcohol artisans with a real pride in their jobs. The writer took stories culled from his father and his father's bartender friends over the years. "Of all the bartenders Lou has met, heard about or worked with," according to the announcement, "he picked six. Two of them are legends. Three of them are still living today. One of them is a movie in himself."

Mustillo returns to New York from Los Angeles, where he appeared on TV in "High Incident," "NYPD Blue," "Providence" and "Law and Order S.V.U." and in the films "Corrina Corrina" and "Dudley Do-Right." Several years ago, he performed another solo show, Circumstances, Off-Broadway. Producing Bartenders are Louis S. Salamone, Jeff Murray and Christopher Wright, Janice Montana. Janis Powell directs.

Tickets to Bartenders are $45. The John Houseman Studio Theatre is located at 450 West 42nd Street. For reservations, call (212) 206-1515.
