With Adam Pascal already having sung his heart out at the Cutting Room, one figured it wouldn't be long until another of his pop-oriented former Rent castmates joined in. Anthony Rapp will take his turn in the Sh-K-Boom Room at the Cutting Room Nov. 30. SpRing [sic], a former Saturday Night Fever and Grease! cast member, will also perform. Rapp made his name as Mark Cohen in Rent, a role he played in the original company, on Broadway and in Chicago. He also performed the title role in You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown on Broadway. He is promoting his debut CD on the Pai Gow Records label, "Look Around."
Aside from appearing on Broadway and recording her new CD, "SpRung", SpRing founded "She Rocks Broadway," which recently held a successful concert at the Westbeth Theatre. Performers included Orfeh, Alice Ripley, Daphne Rubin Vega, & Idina Menzel.
Tickets are $10 at the door. The Cutting Room, a new restaurant owned by The Best Man's Chris Noth, is located at 19 West 24th Street. For more information, call Noah Cornman at (646) 505 0496.
