The two works mark Aquila's sole New York appearances this season, after runs of Iliad: Book One and Catch 22 during the 2008-2009 season. Enemy of the People plays March 30, followed by As You Like It March 31.
Both productions feature actors Leandra Ashton, Lucy Black, Howard Crossley, Damian Davis, Lauren Davis, James Lavender and Owen Young.
Aquila artistic director and founder Peter Meineck directs Enemy of the People, which has a creative team including Kevin Shaw (lighting design), Rufus Lusk (projection design) and Kimberly Pau Donato (costume design).
Kenn Sabberton directs As You Like It, which has designs by Peter Meineck (production and lighting design), Kenn Sabberton (production design) and Desiree Sanchez (movement).
Enemy of the People, according to Aquila, "explores the impact of severe eco-issues on a small town and the consequences to one man of uncovering the truth." Set in a period of revolution in France, As You Like It "tells the story of power-hungry men exiling their brothers, girls playing guys, and finding love in unexpected places," press notes state."
