News Ariana DeBose, Hannah Elless, Donna Lynne Champlin and Jason Tam Join Daniel Maté in Concert This Week Ariana DeBose, Hannah Elless, Donna Lynne Champlin and Jason Tam are among the performers joining composer-lyricist Daniel Maté for three goodbye concerts entitled Before I Go this week at Don't Tell Mama.

Each concert features "a diverse and unique set of Maté originals and cover tunes along with a different group of special musical guests." Max Friedman produces

Concerts, held before Maté relocates to the West Coast after ten years in NYC, are Dec. 9 at 7 PM, Dec. 12 at 9:15 PM and Dec. 14 at 7 PM.

For the Dec. 9 show, Maté is joined by Farah Alvin (I Love You Because), Champlin (Sweeney Todd), DeBose (Hamilton), Jeremy Morse (The Underclassman), Jason SweetTooth Williams (Bloodsong of Love) and the Hip Hop Karaoke NYC All-Stars. Maté’s longstanding collaborations with composer Will Aronson (The Trouble With Doug) will also be featured.

The Dec. 12 show will feature Liz Lark Brown, Victoria Huston-Elem, Max Friedman, Grace McLean (Bedbugs!!!) and Noah Zachary. The concert will include musical contributions from Fred Lassen, Charlie Rosen and Jeff Roberts.

The Dec. 14 show will feature Elless (Bright Star), Shannon O'Boyle (Once), Will Roland, Bob Stillman (Grey Gardens) and Tam (If/Then). The band will comprise Fred Lassen, Justin Goldner and Hiroyuki Matsuura. Maté received the 2013 Kleban Prize for Musical Theatre Lyrics, the Cole Porter Award for Excellence in Music and Lyrics from the ASCAP Foundation and a Jonathan Larson Foundation Grant for Music and Lyrics. His works include the song cycle The Longing and the Short of It, Middle School Mysteries, The Story of Jo-Beth and, with composer Will Aronson, The Trouble With Doug and Hansel & Gretl & Heidi & Günter.
