Berkenkamp asked patrons to consider a final donation to the orchestra to allow it to pay off $90,000 in debt and avoid bankruptcy. He also asked that subscribers donate their tickets for the two remaining concerts on the orchestra's season schedule.
According to the Arizona Republic, the West Valley Symphony played until recently at the Sundome in Sun City West. When that venue became unavailable, the orchestra found other performance spaces, but audiences didn't follow.
