News Arnaz to Play Birdland Nov. 18-19 Lucie Arnaz, most recently on Broadway in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, will return to the famed jazz club Birdland Nov. 18 and 19.

Arnaz's new show, entitled She's Back . . .And This Time It's Personal, will feature appearances by her kids, Joe and Katharine D. Luckinbill. Musical director Ron Abel will accompany Arnaz for the 7 PM performances. Cabaretgoers can expect to hear "standards, country, jazz, a new ballad or two, self-penned tunes of romance and revenge, and a celebration her much-loved Latin heritage," according to press notes. In a statement singer-actress Arnaz said, "I just enjoy acting out these stories. That's all really great songs are, anyway. And I always have fun. I love to sing. I pick good tunes and I have Ron Abel and Billy Stritch arrangements. My band is going to be killer. All I need are people in the seats who are there to have fun too!"

Lucie Arnaz received a Theatre World Award for her performance in the Neil Simon/Marvin Hamlisch/Carole Bayer Sager musical, They're Playing Our Song. She returned to Broadway 13 years later to star in Simon's Pulitzer Prize/Tony Award-winning play, Lost in Yonkers. Arnaz starred opposite Tommy Tune in the national tour of My One and Only, and opposite husband Laurence Luckinbill in the national tours of Whose Life Is It Anyway? and Social Security. She also starred in the West End premiere of the musical, The Witches of Eastwick. Arnaz is the winner of the Emmy Award, Theatre World Award, Outer Critics Circle Award, Sarah Siddons Award and the Carbonell Award.
