Brian Dennehy, the Tony-winning star of the Tony-winning Broadway revival of Arthur Miller's Death of a Salesman, will leave that show on Nov. 7, it was announced Sept. 16. Now, it appears the show will close on the same date.

According to producer David Richenthal, no replacement for Dennehy could be found. Among those whose services had been solicited were Charles Durning, Albert Finney and Stacy Keach.

According to reports, Dennehy asked to leave because he is exhausted and wishes to spend time with his family.

Both Dennehy and Franz are scheduled to star in the London run of Salesman, which begin a 12-week run at the Old Vic Jan. 31, 2000.

The acclaimed revival of Arthur Miller's Death of a Salesman is now playing an open run at the Eugene O'Neill Theatre.It began life at Chicago's Goodman Theater, where Falls is artistic director, and began previews on Broadway Jan. 22.
