Directed by Michael Wilson, the Horton Foote work will run Sept. 18-Oct. 27 at 59E59 Theaters with an official opening Sept. 27. The cast will feature Elizabeth Ashley (Enchanted April) as Stella, Arthur French (Two Trains Running) as Doug, Hallie Foote (The Day Emily Married) as Mary Jo, Penny Fuller (Southern Comforts) as Lucille and Gerald McRaney ("Deadwood") as Lewis, with Devon Abner, James Colby, Lynda Gravatt, Virginia Kull, Maggie Lacey, Nicole Lowrance and Keiana Richard.

Dividing The Estate is described as "a 12-character human comedy about a family that must confront its past as it prepares for its future."

The creative team includes Jeff Cowie (sets), David C. Woolard (costumes), Rui Rita (lights) and John Gromada (sound).

Michael Hollinger's Opus will open the new Primary Stages season of new works by American playwrights on July 24. The line-up continues with Foote's Dividing the Estate (Sept. 18-Oct. 27), Brooke Berman's Hunting and Gathering (Jan. 22-March 1, 2008) and Willy Holtzman's Something You Did (March 18-April 26, 2008).
