As with his previous plays — Master Harold and the Boys, The Road to Mecca and the Tony Award winner Blood Knot — Exits and Entrances is set in the scribe's native South Africa. The true story focuses on "An idealistic young playwright and a fading middle-aged actor" at both ends of the career spectrum. One is poised on the threshold of a promising new career.
