In an experience inspired by elevator rides, the 13 scenes each take place inside a cylindrical pod. Each audience member enters a pod by himself or herself, takes part in a private one-on-one performance and is then guided to the next pod. No two viewers have the same experience.

Debra Winger was announced to star in the production, but has withdrawn.

The work is created and directed by Nancy Bannon, and is produced by Bannon and the Tony Award-winning lighting designer Brian MacDevitt.

Bob Moss — the founder of the theatre company Playwrights Horizons — stars along with Marc Kenison, Stephanie Liapis, Risa Steinberg, Arnie Apostol, Keith Johnson, Megan Brunsvold, Tricia Nelson, Jennifer Gillespie, Rick Meese, Jose Souto, Netta Yerushalmy, Ryan Corriston and Lily Fischer.

MacDevitt provides lighting design and costumes are by Ilona Somogyi. Barron directed projects created by the choreographer Doug Varone from 1991-2000. Her own projects have been presented at Danspace Project at St. Mark's Church, Movement Research at Judson Church, the 92nd Street Y, BAX and Joyce SoHo, among other locations.

MacDevitt's many lighting design credits include The Vertical Hour, The Coast of Utopia and The Color Purple.
