The "Best & Worst 2007" special double issue (Dec. 28/Jan. 4) takes a look back at the year that was. EW Stage editor Melissa Rose Bernardo provides the magazine's top theatre list featuring both Broadway and Off-Broadway productions.
The EW "Shows of the Year" 2007 are:
1. August: Osage County
2. Dividing the Estate
3. The Seafarer
4. The Homecoming
5. King Hedley II
6. Frost/Nixon
7. Gypsy
8. Speech & Debate
9. Mauritius
10. 100 Saints You Should Know
Theatre folk were peppered into other lists. Amy Ryan (for her turn in "Gone Baby Gone") was noted for "2007 Breakouts. The "2007 Great Performances" roundup makes mention of stage stars Hal Holbrook (for his role in "Into the Wild"), Alec Baldwin ("30 Rock") and Jonathan Groff (for Spring Awakening).
Two future movie musical stars also made that list: the upcoming "Nine" star Marion Cotillard (for "La Vie en Rose") and "Mamma Mia!" lead Amanda Seyfried (for "Big Love"). The "Best & Worst 2007" issue is currently on newsstands. Entertainment Weekly can also be found on the web at ew.com
