Avenue Q, the Tony-winning musical now playing Off-Broadway, is celebrating National Video Game Day September 12 with the release of Avenue Q Trail, a retro shout-out to the computer lab games of the 1990’s.

The game takes players through the streets of New York as Princeton—a character in the show—tries to find an apartment. It can be played on laptop or desktop versions of the Avenue Q website here: avenueq.com/game.php.

Avenue Q is a musical about a group of 20-somethings—people and puppets alike—who move to New York with big dreams and tiny bank accounts. The show features music and lyrics by Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx, and a book by Jeff Whitty.

Avenue Q is currently playing at New World Stages. The cast features Elizabeth Berg, Katie Boren, Kerri Bracken, Grace Choi, Ben Durocher, Imari Hardon, Jason Jacoby, Nicholas Kohn, Michael Liscio, Jr., Jed Resnick and Danielle K. Thomas.
